Event Planning

Event Planning in the Industry

Is event planning different for the industry or is it the same as any other industry?

Many people consider event planners as those who just plan parties, but don’t take in to account all that it concerns.  Event planning can be anything from celebrations, to education, promotions to commemorations.  Event planners may engage in one or more of the flowing to plan and create their event:

Conduct research
Create an event design
Find a site
Arrange for food, decor, and entertainment
Plan transportation to and from the event
Send invitations to attendees
Arrange any necessary accommodations for attendees
Coordinate the activities of event personnel
Hire employees to work the event
Supervise at the site
Conduct evaluations of the event

Event planners often work sporadic hours—not the typical workweek. The hours and stress generally increase as the event draws near.

Do you have what it takes?
Planners usually are very organized, detail oriented, of stout heart, have nerves of steel, great decision making skills, clear communicators, people persons, creative, flexible, full of tact and most importantly the knowledge to make their client happy!
