Mission of the Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center
Black Hollywood Education and Resource Center, BHERC, is a
nonprofit, public benefit organization, designed to advocate,

played, and continue to play, in film and television.
Opportunities
Unfortunately, African-Americans are underrepresented in
movies and awards. This organization
provides many opportunities for education of and progress in the industry.
Below are some of the assets the site holds.
First Weekend Club
The first
weekend club is intended to encourage the public to support movies that feature
African Americans. Often time excellent movies are overlooked in Hollywood;
this club gives the exposure the filmmakers and artist need, thus allowing them
the opportunity to gain future employment.
Film Events & Festivals
Artistry In Motion – introduces middle and high school students to
opportunities in animation
18th Annual African American Marketplace & S.E. Manly Short Film Showcase
– recognizing the talents and contributions of unsung heroes in the
Entertainment Industry. This year’s
showcase - “A Great Day In Black Hollywood”
Black Ski Film Festival – a showcasing of independent film
Conclusion
Overall this website provides the exposure needed to
catapult anyone into the industry. The
only disadvantage is that they are located in Los Angeles, California. Additional associations are listed below.
